SECONDARY SCHOOLS PROGRAM
NFL FLAG IN SECONDARY SCHOOLS
The NFL Flag program aims to use Flag Football to introduce young people to the NFL, American Football and inspire the next generation of players. In early 2024 a pilot NFL Flag Secondary School program was developed across 12 schools in South-East Queensland.
The NFL Flag curriculum is available for Secondary School teachers to include in their PE classes. In 2025 a U14 tournament will be available for year 7 & 8 students across Australia.

Following the 6-week NFL Flag curriculum, schools will be invited to participate in their local State Championship, where they will compete alongside schools in their region. Secondary Schools who teach grade 7 & 8 students (U14) are eligible to submit a team of 10 to NFL Flag Secondary School Tournaments. WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO PARTICPATE IN THE NFL FLAG PROGRAM?

The NFL Flag program is offered to schools who teach year 7 & 8 students due to the structure of the global program and opportunities to compete in the USA.
I TEACH YEAR STUDENTS WHO ARE IN YEAR 9 AND ABOVE. CAN I STILL TEACH NFL FLAG AT SCHOOL?

Yes. Secondary Schools across Australia can still for NFL Flag and teach to students as part of their PE curriculum. Teachers will have access to the training course and curriculum. However, these students won't be eligible to enter an NFL Flag tournament.
HOW DO I ACCESS THE NFL FLAG CURRICULUM?

You must register your school for the NFL Flag program by filling out the NFL Flag Australia Registration form.
